Cliff was awarded the ‘Best in Complementary Medicine’ award in 2008 by Migraine Action charity for his work with migraine patients. He has conducted his own headache research, taught headache courses UK-wide and having been in practice since 1987, is an experienced member of the osteopathic profession.

Helena has completed a PGCE in Clinical Management of Headache Conditions and is enrolled on the Pain Masters course at Edinburgh University. She is clinical lead at the ESO Headache Clinic, is a maternity and children’s clinic tutor and reflective practice mentor too, and has been in osteopathic practice since 1991. She also has a PGCE in Clinical and Academic Education (BSO, 2012) and will be supporting Elizabeth Huzzey (see below) in the ongoing creation of headache education material for osteopaths through OPHM.

Elizabeth Huzzey has studied in the field of headaches for many years, is an experienced osteopath and also an acupuncturist trained in China. She runs a headache clinic within her practice where she is Principal, and has developed a keen interest in headache education. She is involved in setting up headache seminars and online material for OPHM, and is developing links with related headache education organisations within medicine and osteopathy.

Masters in Pain Management, Cardiff University, 2009. Winner of Welsh Pain Society prize in 2010 for his review of an evidence-based framework on which to formulate a physical and manipulative therapeutic approach for the treatment of pain associated with the cervical musculoskeletal components of Migraine and chronic tension-type headache (CTTH) for primary care physicians. Associate tutor on Pain Management Masters, Cardiff University. Mark has previously worked in London where he was involved in a NHS, health in the community project delivering osteopathic care within a GP practice in Lewisham.

Corina Breukel trained alongside Clifford Lomas and is an experienced osteopath with a special interest in Cluster Headaches. She is currently involved in awareness-raising and patient advocacy on this serious condition and is a speaker on this important subject at the Institute of Osteopathy Convention 2016.

Danny Orchard is a Senior Lecturer at the BSO. For his Masters dissertation at King’s College, London he presented to the Paris OSEAN conference in 2012 on ‘The Lived Experience of Headaches’. He is creating a new graduate mentorship programme and research hub in Hackney, London. Danny works as an osteopath at a BUPA centre within Goldman Sachs

Vinod Mahtani has a special interest in headaches and is currently enrolled on the Clinical Management of Pain Masters at Edinburgh University. He graduated from the British School of Osteopathy (BSO) in 2002 and has since lectured there too. He has worked as an osteopath both privately and in the NHS. Vinod is also accredited with the Chartered Institute for Environmental Health as a trainer in manual handling and has worked as a trainer with Pathways training and Consultancy since 2001.
